Mount and Blade: Warband is the first sequel for the action role-playing video game Mount and Blade. “Boring.” I thought to myself as I stared at the spineless wimp seated in front of me. Without removing my steel gaze, I lifted my black dragon mug and took a sip of the creamy caramel coffee, its hot liquid sizzling on my exposed upper lip. I continued to stare at him waiting for this god-awful silence to finally break over the knee of a word.

I guess I can’t blame the poor boy, it isn’t everyday that someone gets an audience with one of the Overlord’s Generals. After a long period of time, I realized that I’ve ran out of coffee which meant that it was time to get this show on the road.I set the mug down and cleared my throat making sure that I was about to speak as passive aggressive as possible, “I’m pretty sure that you didn’t come here just to gawk at my dining hall. Either we can begin and continue this interview, or I can have you executed for wasting the time of a valued subject of the Overlord’s Army.” It seemed to have really gotten to the muscleless excuse for a man seated before me, for the air that had once been filled with the sweet aroma of the incense scattered about the room was now being undermined by the metallic tang of urine. He lifted up his notebook and pencil in his trembling fingers as beads of sweat ran down from the base of his temple. He straightened only by the slightest degree as he regained his composure from my previous taunts.

However no matter the efforts he took to hide his cowardice, it seeped from him like the threads of smoke from the incense behind us and it manifested in his speech. “For.forgive me my.my lord for my previous transgressions. I would like to thank you for accepting my request and granting me the privilege of having an interview with one as mighty as yourself. If it pleases my lord might you recount the details of our great Overlord’s Conquest and your own grand gestures in assisting him”.Ah yes, now this is much better than before. A journalist shouldn’t fear the person they’re interviewing, but should remember their place well. I’m extremely glad that we’ve finally gotten somewhere today. “Very well boy, I shall indulge your curiosity by dispensing the information of which you seek”.-Year One of the Overlord’s Conquest500 P.E: The Imperial City of BeytonThe Imperial City of Beyton stood on the southern border between the Overlord’s unstoppable Empire and the continent of Marianda.

Mount And Blade Warband Trade Agreement Template

Built into the hollowed out mountain range known as the Matter Krags, the city was a natural fortress and death trap for invading forces. To Marianda, it was one of the few dormant continental superpowers. Through the eyes of the more enlightened however, the City of Beyton was a splotch of filth that stood in the path of the Overlord and his chosen Nine. Its symbolic status as a gateway to the continent made it a natural first target in the Overlord’s' military conquest. Circumstances were ideal for you to prove your worth as a general in the Overlord’s army.Taking this city would send a message to the rest of Marianda: The Overlord’s Will is Law!Stage 1 - Ororm’s Wall - The Overlord’s Armies took the battle to Ororm’s Wall - heralding the opening call of the domination of Marianda.

The two armies brought their own distinctive sense of discipline and maelstrom to the assault. You aided the council member that would best suite your strengths. Aid the council member known as The Everliving and their “Shattered Kings.”Standing side-by-side with the Overlord’s elite soul-bound warriors. The Soulsteel clad knights charged relentlessly at Ororm’s Wall with eyes filled to the brim with an unquenched thirst for souls.

The Imperial City of Beyton was about to learn that being dormant soften you up, turned you into a weakling unfit to even breath the same air as the Overlord's undead legion. The fearless hordes of undead warriors easily conquered Ororm’s Wall.(+Possible Undead Trait Write In, +Special Troop: Undead Knights, +Friendly Relations to Shattered Kings.).

Aid the council member known as The Heretic and their “Forgotten Sons.”The Imperial Legion of Beyton was unprepared for the eldritch horrors that were about to be unleashed on their poor unsuspecting souls. With your help the Forgotten Sons were able to cast a Ritual of Summoning that created a rift in reality right in the middle of the Legion. From the rift an amalgamation of alien technology that contorted together like a formless piece of living rotten flesh spewed forth.

The horrors it unleashed on the minds and bodies of the Legion were more than enough to decimate it from a Legion of thousands to a small pack of broken zombies. The Forgotten Sons banished the unnatural horror and claimed the city with little to no casualties.(+Special Troop: Wizard, +Friendly Relation to Forgotten Sons.) Infiltrate Marianda - The Battle of Ororm’s Wall would be remembered by the Gods of Titanus for millenniums as the first battle between the Overlord’s Army and the defenders of Marianda, but the real conflict erupted behind the shadows. The Overlord’s Armies all had a plan to infiltrate the continent and weaken the areas under the influence of foreign powers. You helped whoever aligned with your interest.

Aid the council member known as The Whispering EchoYou lent your skills to The Whispering Echo who needed assistance in gaining a foothold among Marianda’s web of intrigue. The task was an extremely simple one: Kill important figures and replace them with those loyal to the Overlord. Of course, the task was easier said than done. It took hours for the both of you to find those foolish or desperate enough to just accept the word of two strangers.

You had to find peasants and teach them enough about the world of politics to make sure that they could actually infiltrate the Nobleman’s Inner Circles. Then came the assassination part. Keeping to the shadows the both of you eliminated the elites of a wide range of independent factions one by one. The methods used to assassinate those poor bastards ranged from simple poisons to murders that would make the God of Death cringe. With the leaders dead and replaced by the agents of the Overlord, the occupation of these territories became that much easier. (+Special Adviser, +Friendly Relation to The Whispering Echo and Major Factions). Aid the council member known as The Winds of BalthaThe Winds of Succession shall fan the ember of independence and turn it into a full fledged fire of Rebellion!

You joined the Winds of Baltha in spreading the words of revolution and humanism. You raided and slaughtered the villages of those too foolish to join you, while arming and training those that were actually brave enough to forge their own destinies free from the rule of a tyrant. The sudden surge of revolts took a majority of the kingdoms by surprised and actually halted their progress in gaining information and power that could have proved worrying. The kingdoms were severely weakened due to the lost of entire villages that provided troops and goods. This would make the conquest of Marianda far easier than before.(+Special Troop: Mercenary Band, +Friendly Relation to Minor Factions from Marianda and the Winds of Baltha)Stage 2 - Judging the Enemy - The soldiers of the Imperial City fell by the hundreds to the combined might of the Shattered Kings and the Forgotten Sons. The only problem was that the two armies could not decided on what to do with the captured prisoners. Unable to come to an agreement the two leaders turned to you, the only general who has remained independent.

Enslave the Prisoners - The Shattered Kings desperately needed new undead warriors to refill the regiments lost in the initial battle. Not only that but the souls would be used the strengthen the soulsteel equipment needed to make them even deadlier than they previously were. Sensing the huge advantage that would be gained by having a larger and deadlier undead legion, you assigned the prisoners to the Shattered Kings where they would be turned into undead warriors with their souls infused into steel. (+relations to the Shattered Kings, learn how to make Soulsteel). Conscript the Prisoners - The Forgotten Sons sought to use the newly acquired hostages as troops to fill up their secondary force known as the “Wyld Exalts.” They would teach the newly gained “Novices” the word of the Overlord and how his will was the only reason that they were alive instead of bound to steel for all eternity. You armed the novices with scrap weaponry and armour informing them that they would have to earn their battle gear like everyone else. In the upcoming battles these soldiers will either kill their countrymen and join the Overlord’s army or die trying.

(+relations to the Forgotten Sons, +Special Troop: Wyld Exalts) Infiltrate the Imperial City - With Ororm’s Wall dominated and chaos erupting everywhere in Marianda, you decided to take your personal army and bypass the remaining garrisons/fortresses that blocked the main army. You used hidden and forgotten paths in the Matter Krags to infiltrate the Imperial City of Beyton. To aid the main army and gain some renown for yourself, you decided to. Establish a source of resources - Enlist the aid of a great merchant to sell you valuable resources that would prove to be of use in the Overlord’s Army.

The sudden change of ownership on important iron, gold, and diamond mines heavily weakened the Imperial City and bolstered the Overlord’s Army. The lack of strategic and luxurious resources damaged the imperial legions and lead to the cancel of many of their trade agreements, while the Overlord’s armies were allowed to fit their men with much needed equipment and trade with foreign powers for necessary supplies like food. (+ strategic and luxurious resources, +established Merchant Empire). Destroy the Knights of the Thorn Warband - the fiercest opponents in the Imperial City were the members of the Knights of the Thorn Warband. An elite group of cavalry that supposedly wiped out the legendary Storm Naga(because dragons are too mainstream) that inhabited the Matter Krags. The Knights were far too deadly to be left alone, so you took it upon yourself to remove them from the Imperial City before the main army arrived.

Hearing rumors of the commander’s hot temper and bloodlust, you decided to draw them out to an isolated region in the Matter Krags by sending a letter stating a challenge of combat. As time passed the rumors proved to be true and in a matter of hours the warband arrived at the set destination, only to be greeted by an avalanche. You knew that engaging the knights directly would have just caused unnecessary casualties to your forces, so you had your men plant explosives to cause a cave in that would wiped out the majority of the warband.

(+Knowledge on Explosives, Eternal Enemy of the Knights of the Thorn)Step 3 -The Battle for the Imperial City of Beyton - The Overlord’s armies gathered around the Imperial City, the first bastion on the Marianda continent to fall. Both armies longed to storm the city and raze it to the ground for the glorious Overlord. The Shattered Kings howled deathly screams that could pierce the heavens, and the Forgotten Sons summoned horrors and beast of all types.

Your prowess allowed them to make it this far, but there was one more step before total victory. Both armies had a stratagem that guaranteed success and the domination of the Imperial City. Which plan did you support?. Storm the Gates - You joined the Shattered Kings vanguard unit in a direct assault on the City’s Gates. No fortification would stand before the indestructible juggernauts that were the Shattered Kings. With fearless hungry warriors and undying knights the Shattered Kings battered the Gates to splinters. Those that fell in the battle were merely resurrected to incite fear into the Imperial Legions and to continue fighting amongst their brothers.

In time the gates gave way, and the Overlord’s forces spilled into the city with cries of death and hunger. With the city captured by the Shattered Kings, all citizens were turned into undead creatures loyal to the Overlord. (Beyton becomes a undead territory,+Relations to Shattered Kings). Unleash Hell - You joined the Forgotten Sons in a ritual of summoning. The Heretic convinced you to agree with their plan by pointing out that the ritual was easy and would allow them to take the city without having to really do anything.

The plan was to perform a ritual that would summon and open the gates to the plane of Inferno. This would cause a horde of demons to swarm the City of Beyton and pretty much kill everyone, which in turn would mean that the Overlord just took an abandoned city. The gates would then be closed, and the remaining populace would either be demons, half-demons, or cultist loyal to the Overlord.(Beyton becomes demonic territory, +Relations to Forgotten Sons). Make a deal with the Emperor of the Imperial City - You decided to tell both of the council members to go fuck themselves and left them to continue bickering. You took your forces and requested a audience with the Emperor in an area of his choosing. Of course, he chose his Imperial Palace which was the most heavily defended place in Beyton. There you told him of the plans that the Forgotten Sons and Shattered Kings came up with and offered him a way out.

He would surrender the city willingly into the Overlord’s possession and in return no ill fate would befall him and his beloved city. After much discussion and persuasion, he agreed. (Beyton remains as a human territory, +Relations to the Matter Krags, +Special Person: Former Emperor companion)With the Imperial City of Beyton under the control of the Overlord’s forces it was only a matter of time before the rest of the Matter Krags fell under their influence.

The domination of the Matter Krags sent a massive shockwave throughout the Marianda continent and actually caused many kingdoms to start preparing and forging alliances to defend their homes. Knowing this, the Overlord immediately sent their forces out to continue the Great Conquest and to subdue more territories before they were able to mount a decent/effective offensive. With the forces leaving the Imperial City, the Overlord gave you the honor of deciding who would govern it while the main armies were off conquering. Click to expand. If you mean Tyranny, then yes it is. I would definitely recommend giving it a try, as I throughly enjoyed my playthrough of it.Bit of a warning though, the game can be a railroader at times.Basically, if you pick one side, you are stuck with that side for the rest of the game. Two of the paths actually lock off the ability to take a third option in most situations (which is one of the major points of the game), while two basically give you complete free reign over the story for the most part. However, the game itself can be very rewarding, has interesting party members and characters, a well thought out approach to what exactly being 'evil' means, and epic combat reminiscent of Baldur's Gate.

Plus, it gives you complete freedom over how you play your character. Want to be Snarky? Completely down to you. It's not the greatest RPG I've ever played, but it certainly is up there.Plus it was made by the same guys behind Path of Exile, so that has to count for something.

Hopefully before this month is over. Year Two of the Overlord’s Conquest501 P.E: The Lymbardian HighlandsThe plateau nation of Lymbard, inhabited by numerous competing tribes of Gazelle-kin also known as the Obezyany, stood on the right arm of Marianda.

No military could avoid the elevated realm without leaving their flank exposed to attack. By the second year of the great conquest, the Shattered Kings and the Forgotten Sons had pushed deep into Marianda. Components of both militias were sent to dominate Lymbard.

Sensing the rewards to be earned and the necessity of having an independent general you accompanied them.Stage 1- Vanquishing the Black Horn Tribe - The Forgotten Sons sent their most destructive ally to crush the Obezyany of the Black Horn Tribe. Razakhan, Envoy of the End, freed the Obezyany from this mortal coil by singing a song that invited total annihilation to the Obezyany’s camp. The Shattered Kings were promised captured enemies for enslavement, yet none survived the onslaught both physically and spiritually. The Kings demanded compensation. Side with the Forgotten Sons - You praised the Forgotten Sons for destroying the tribe without risking any of the Overlord’s loyal servants. At this stage in the campaign, it was crucial to use any advantage that would mitigate ally losses. The Shattered King's claims were worthless compared to the lossless victory.

The Kings were encouraged by you to actually value the quality of the undead that was currently in use and not to just send them to destruction and replace them with useless zombies. The Kings took this as a worse offense than the original one and vowed to remember it. (+Friendly Relations to Forgotten Sons, +Negative Relations to Shattered Kings, +Friendly Relations to Common Soldiers). Side with the Shattered Kings - You upheld the Shattered Kings claim, and demanded that the youngest novices of the Forgotten Sons joined the Kings to settle the debt. In the aftermath of the ruling, the main forces appeared to witness the young novices transformation into necromancers, liches, vampires, or pathetic zombies/ghouls - an unprecedented event that caused the leader of the Forgotten Sons, The Heretic, to shed silent tears. The kings drew out the ritual as long as they could, reveling in the self-proclaimed victory over the Heretic and their Forgotten Sons.

(+Friendly Relations to Shattered Kings, +Negative Relations to Forgotten Sons, +Friendly Relations to Nobility) An Agreement - The Obezyany were extremely divided and would never join forces even in the face of extinction. The Winds of Baltha and the Whispering Echo used this fact to see if they could convince any of the Obezyany tribes to submit and join the Overlord’s Empire. The armies decided to send diplomats to two tribes of Obezyany to discuss the possibility of surrendering and joining the Overlord’s Empire. The diplomats from the Winds of Baltha and the Whispering Echo were successful, but unfortunately, both tribes were mortal enemies.

Side with the Winds of Baltha - The Tribe that the Winds of Baltha were able to contact was called the Iron Collective. The Iron Collective were apparently the only tribe in the Lymbardian Highlands that used iron equipment which contradicted the common stone and leather tools used by most of the tribes. They preferred to use heavy cavalry (which are massive armored elks) to completely surround their foes and decimate them with shock and awe tactics. The chief of the Iron Collective, Octiem Augustus, was a renowned warrior that as survived a great many battles and caused the extinction of the manticores in Lymbard. His terms for joining the Overlord are simple: The Iron Collective gets control of the Northern Highlands and the Oraclon Rangers annihilation. (+Friendly Relations to Winds of Baltha, +Friendly Relations to Iron Collective, +Learn how to train Iron Collective Cav, +Negative Relations to Whispering Echo).

Side with the Whispering Echo - The Tribe that the Whispering Echo contacted was the Oraclon Rangers. The Oraclon Rangers were the greatest archers in the Lymbardian Highlands and apparently had the most advanced technology out of all of the tribes.

There is sadly a very small number of them compared to the other tribes. The Rangers apparently have a hierarchy where the rank is displayed by the type of weapon they have. The lowest ranking rangers have simple short boys, while medium rank has heavy crossbows, and the highest ranking rangers have strange metal poles that fire small cylinders that can pierce even the toughest of armor. They preferred to simply encircle the enemy and fill them with holes from their superior range.

Warband

The chief of the Oraclon Rangers, Alil Silver-eye, is a young ambitious mage that has focused her magic on controlling, communicating, and summoning beast and natural creatures. Her terms for joining the Overlord are simple: The Oraclon Rangers gain control over all of the Lymbardian Highlands and the Iron Collective is destroyed. In return, she will teach the soldiers of the Overlord’s armies her magic and provide us with those strange weapons that they call firewands. (+Friendly Relations to Whispering Echo, +Friendly Relations to Oraclon Rangers, +Gain Knowledge on Firewands and Beast Magic, +Negative Relations to Winds of Baltha)Stage 2 - An Ancient Foe - The Lymbardian Highlands were not always ruled by the Obezyany. In times that only live on in fragmented myths and legends a powerful kingdom that ruled all of Titanus originated from it. It was called the Dominion of Lymbard. The Dominion was believed to have been ruled by great giants with untold power that could shape the very fabric of reality.

The giants had special people accompanying them wherever they traveled. These special people called the Eidolons were mortals granted god-like powers by the great giants.

Now this was a time long ago and the giants have vanished from Titanus, but the Eidolons still wonder the highlands with warbands of spiritual riders. These warbands have caused numerous problems for anyone that inhabited the Highlands. They needed to be dealt with. Enslave the Warbands - Despite the wishes.well demands of the Balthan Windriders and Forgotten Sons; you decided that these warbands have the potential to become deadly weapons that could turn the tide in any future battles. With the help of the Shattered Kings and the Whispering Echo, you devised a plan that would allow you to complete a ritual that would bind the Eidolons to the Overlord’s Will.

The planning was easy, but the execution of the plan was a lot more challenging than expected. The Eidolons were far more intelligent and powerful than you anticipated and were able to deal a lot of casualties while avoiding capture, but you were able to enslave one Eidolon and their warband. This victory will far exceed the losses of some soldiers in the future. (+Friendly Relations to Shattered Kings and Whispering Echo, +Negative Relations to Winds of Baltha and Forgotten Sons, +Earn Eidolon Slave, +Eidolon Warbands still present). Destroy the Warbands - You allowed your emotions to take over and decided to honor the wishes of the Winds of Baltha and the Forgotten Sons despite the logical advantages that the Kings and Echo challenged your choice with. The Eidolons were relics of the past that must be destroyed and reunited with their masters. Not only that, but the risk of trying to capture one is too high and would cause the death of hundreds of useful soldiers.

You, the Winds, and the Sons agreed that the best course of action would be to use the combined magic of all three of the forces to disrupt the Eidolons physical body. This would cause their power to become unstable and cause it to self-destruct. The mind and power would then return to their giant overlords and send the ghost riders back to the afterlife.

(+Friendly Relations to Winds of Baltha and Forgotten Sons, +Negative Relations to Shattered Kings and Whispering Echo, +No Eidolon Warbands present) The Starfall Festival - The enemy readied for a peacetime festival as the Overlord’s forces armed for battle. The Starfall Festival is a holy day for all Obezyany that only occurs once every century. During this holiday, all of the Obezyany tribes gather around a massive crater in Lymbard formed by being struck by a massive metal rock from the heavens. The Shattered Kings paid no mind to the eastern custom, and planned to attack the Obezyany forces during their centennial celebration. The Winds of Baltha insisted on a day of nonviolence and instead planned on sending diplomats to the festival to demonstrate to the tribes that the Overlord is a kind and just person that would unite them and bring prosperity to them. With the plans interfering with one another, the two armies turned to you. Side with the Shattered Kings - All of the Obezyany tribes gathered together in one area was too good of an opportunity to pass.

You sided with the Shattered Kings in attacking the foolish tribes during their bygone customs. You interrupted their festival and slaughtered your way through noncombatants. Every Obezyany that was cut down by your blade was resurrected by the Shattered Kings and forced to kill their fellow kin. Only a small percentage of Obezyany survived the massacre you inflicted on them. This decisive victory will make the conquest of the Lymbardian Highlands a thousand times easier than it previously was.

(+Friendly Relations to Shattered Kings, +Negative Relations to Winds of Baltha, +Massive Negative Relations to Obezyany, +Obezyany lose 80% population). Side with the Winds of Baltha - You offered the locals their last feast – sending a few Windriders into the mix in good faith. The army hoped that the gesture would foster an air of partnership for the occupation to come. The festivities went off as expected, and the Winds of Baltha recruits you sent to enjoy themselves reported little animosity among the revelers.

(+Friendly Relations to Winds of Baltha, +Negative Relations to Shattered Kings, +Friendly Relations to Obezyany, +Obezyany population stays the same)Stage 3 -The fall of the Lymbardian Highlands - With the defeat of Lymbard an inevitability, the armies of the Overlord met to discuss how to put an end to this stage of the Conquest. The armies have received word that the remaining Obezyany tribes that refuse to submit to the Overlord’s will have banded together in one last desperate attempt to push the armies back. This meant that the remaining scum would be concentrated in one location, which would effectively mean that winning this battle would wipe out the majority if not all of the Obezyany.

The only problem was the deals and agreement made beforehand with certain tribes. The Winds of Baltha and Forgotten Sons wanted to honor these deals, while the Shattered Kings and Whispering Echo disregarded them as obsolete and pointless.

Knowing that without your interjection the armies would begin fighting themselves, you decided that the best course of action was to. Purge the Lymbardian Highlands - You agreed with the Shattered Kings and Whispering Echo on how the Obezyany were nothing but inferior rebels that were already given a chance to surrender at the beginning of the conquest. You gathered your troops with the Everliving and their forces to meet the tribes head on in a battle of epic proportions. The strategies of the Obezyany were predictable and easier to counter in the field of battle.

They would charge at you with mediocre infantry to lock your forces in melee combat, while the cavalry and archers surrounded and pincered you. You prepared for this by having your agents litter the ground with explosives that would detonate when step on. Next, you assigned the former emperor to lead your cav division while everyone else stayed back. The Shattered Kings would charge at the Obezyany head on then your cav would attack the archers that are left undefended and finally, the explosions would decimate the tribal cav which would then be shot down by hidden archers.

This plan worked flawlessly and completely annihilated the foolish tribes. With the tribes massacred, all that was left was to occupy the Highlands.

(+Friendly Relations to Shattered Kings and Whispering Echo, +Negative Relations to Winds of Baltha and Forgotten Sons, +All Opposing Obezyany are destroyed). Challenge the Grand Obezyany Chief - You challenged the Grand Chief of the remaining Obezyany tribes to an honorable fight to the death. The Forgotten Sons and Winds of Baltha wished to spare soldier lives for the battles ahead, and Obezyany lives for occupation. The Grand Chief was an old but elite fighter, and his value to the tribes was an accepted truth. After making guarantees for your protection, you met him in the middle of the Starfall Crater and fought in the view of tense onlookers. The battle drew on longer than you thought possible but good fortune struck when an ornamental chain hanging from the Chief's armor snagged the quillon of his sword, granting you the opportunity to end his life swiftly.

The Overlord's forces celebrated your return to camp, and the dissolution of enemy morale. With the Grand Chief dead, the rest of the tribe shamefully surrendered to the Overlord’s mighty warriors. (+Friendly Relations to Winds of Baltha and Forgotten Sons, +Negative Relations to Shattered Kings and Whispering Echo, +Friendly Relations with Obezyany tribes)The Lymbardian Highlands would play a crucial part in the Overlord’s Glorious Conquest of Marianda. It allowed the Overlord’s military to pincer and attack any army from both the East and the South. While the Matter Krags provided an unconquerable fortress and numerous amounts of strategic minerals, the Lymbardian Highlands provided a harsh environment that would breed deadly warriors due to the dry nomadic lifestyle and the unique dangerous wildlife. The hidden relics of the past and the rather high rate of unnatural anomalies that occur would also be a great thing to abuse.

Unfortunately, the Overlord wasn’t happy with just the Highlands and Mountains, so they immediately sent their forces to conquer the rest of Marianda. Of course, before that could happen someone would have to take control of the Highlands. Click to expand.I warn you, due to the fact that you chose to take the Highlands for yourself and made the agreement with the Oraclon Rangers this means that either 1: You rule all of the Lymbardian Highlands and the Oraclon Rangers are under you, 2: The Oraclon Rangers rule all of the Lymbardian Highlands and you're under them, 3: You both rule with each other evenly like a Austria-Hungary did with two rulers, or 4: The Highlands are split between generals all fighting for control. The Hierarchy if not a republic will basically work like this:1.
